Founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2018, auór is an independent eyewear label built from humble beginnings. The label was created with a vision to create functional, refined and quality eyewear by hand that co-founders Claire de Luca and Kristen Lindesay couldn’t seem to find elsewhere.

This collection draws inspiration from the palette of the Australian summer and hues of the sea. The water, particularly in Sydney, has provided lifelong inspiration for the pair. The shades of blue found in their home coastlines, which you see so evidently in the Seaglass and French Blue frames. There’s also an undertone of Italy in the collection’s colours, again with the luminosity found in Mediterranean set against the rocky and dusty terrain of Italy’s coastlines.

“Throughout the process of developing Franca and Valentina we envisaged long days at the beach with sun our faces, salt in our hair and the sea at our feet. The collection is really a song and ode to the sea,” said Claire and Kristen.

The company lives by a “less is more” philosophy and practices this across all aspects of their business in an effort to avoid excess of any kind. auór eyewear is designed in Australia and handcrafted in Italy using the highest-quality European materials, produced in short runs unique to the individual. auór support the slow fashion movement, working together with their makers in a transparent supply chain that respects fair practice.
