Drones take over Fall Winter 18/19 Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan
Written by Jordan Ellen Wood
We use to joke about when we would watch movies such as iRobot, and think to ourselves.. Imagine if robots took over from humans. Are we one step closer to this happening? Models are so last season, and at the Dolce & Gabbana show is was all eyes on the drones. The Italian fashion house sent their handbags down in a style no one would expect during their Milan collection at fashion week.
The influencers. Designers and other members of the frow were all left waiting in anticipation for 45 minutes, wondering WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! But, everyone is allowed to be fashionably late.. Even if it means we are living in the future. Being asked to turn their WiFi and hot spots off was a first for the invitees as their phones are usually the one thing they have glued to their hands during the whole of the shows.
Despite the delay, the opening of the Fall Winter 18/19 collection was enough of an apology. The numerous amount of drones flew down the runway carrying the bejewelled leather handbags that are a classic must on our shopping list. It wouldn’t of been a fashion runway show if their weren’t any models (human ones, of course..).
Will this be a sneak peak into the future of fashion shows? Our childhood imaginations are starting to come true.. Prepare for a robot overload.
