Y's x Scholl new Collaboration “Sabot Shoes”
Combining design and technology Y's and Scholl
“The most aesthetic comfort shoes in the world” The story of Scholl begins in Chicago where, at the age of 17, William Scholl had relocated to work in a small shoe shop, specializing in comfortable footwear. Ever since, William Scholl dedicated his life to the wellbeing of the foot. In the 1960s, people became increasingly aware of the benefits of living an active lifestyle, but regular exercise was time consuming, and often dull.
Scholl introduced his famous ‘Pescura’ sandals – designed to tone the wearer's legs with every step. The Pescura sandals quickly became an icon of the Swinging Sixties, and are still available today. As the pioneer in the field of aspirational footwear, design and technology, Scholl offers a specialized product portfolio featuring unique aesthetic comfortable shoes with proven technologies.
The Y's x Scholl silhouette draws inspiration from Scholl’s ‘Sabot’ shoe. In this design, the upper is fastened to the sole using tacker needles instead of the round rivets typically found in Scholl footwear, and the edges are covered with leather tape.
The exclusive buckle featured on the strap belt of this Y's collaboration model, along with the refined shape of the strap, and the unique assembly technique, echoes the bar tack stitching seen on men's formal shoes. The Y's and Scholl sabot shoe embodies both comfort and style by incorporating elements of classic men's footwear. Each component is meticulously crafted in an all-black design, while the leather tag, marked 'Y's and Scholl, brand this special collaboration.
