is a silent rebel creative and intellectual a walking contradiction. STEPHVERANO is a womenswear designer brand based in Manila, Philippines. Two collections are released yearly, with spring-summer collections focusing mainly on ready-to-wear and fall-winter collections showcasing unique hand-crafted pieces together with ready-to-wear, This is done to highlight the brand’s dual nature: the practical

and the festive, both classic and experimental, with an overall artisanal spirit. Pieces produced are limited and every collection is a reflection of both the designer and her atelier’s creative journey.

After finishing her university degree in sociology from Ateneo de Manila University, Stephany Verano decided to pursue fashion by enrolling in classes from SoFA Manila and Slim’s Fashion and Arts School. In 2011, she placed first-runner up during the Triumph Inspiration Award Competition (Philippines) for her crocheted lingerie design inspired by Philippine tattoos, and in 2012 created accessories using corn materials and became a finalist for the Fashion for Biotech Accessories Contest in Manila.

In 2014, she flew to Paris to pursue further studies in fashion and in 2016, gained her diploma from ESMOD Paris, specializing in Womenswear Ready-to-Wear Knitwear. While in Paris, she did internships for brands Coralie Marabelle, La Prestic Ouiston, and Vetements. She is now focused creating womenswear collections for her brand, STEPHVERANO, launching her first official collection for Spring Summer 2019. Working with her own small team of seamstresses, she creates the patterns and prototypes and oversees overall creative direction and production for the brand.
