by ANDREA CHIERI

The project expresses itself with an androgynous aesthetic giving a whole new vision of living life in freedom, to really feel ourselves, even when wearing non-coding clothing. it embraces an irreverent approach to dressing up by offering a new perspective on tailoring.

CINEMA’S CHORUS is the seasonless collection 2024-25 of the aesthetic project ALCHÈTIPO by Andrea Alchieri, which revolves around the concept of magic, an element that has enchanted mankind for millennia, evoking terror, laughter, shock and wonder.

The collection is inspired by “The Magic Book” published by Taschen, which portrays a world tinged with anguished black and eccentric colours, with distorted bodies, cryptic messages and references to the constant struggle between good and evil. Persecuted in the past, magicians have always been vehicles to a parallel universe of invoked spirits, mind readings, inverted laws or magic tricks. Pioneers of special effects, have never ceased to confuse us by making the impossible possible on stage, thus giving rise to cinematic special effects.

ALCHÈTIPO by Andrea Alchieri is a mutable aesthetic project of enrichments that gives life to genderless seasonless capsules; a conscious choice by the designer Andrrea Alchieri to emphasise the character of his personal project. The logo, featuring the designer’s imprint and the very initial of his name and surname, is completed with an eyelet at the apex, a clear reference to the sewing need to mark the concept of tailoring made in Italy. The fingerprint leads us back to the designer’s need to be totally immersed in his designs as is each garment was physically marked by him.

The aesthetic project ALCHÈTIPO was born from the union of two distinct but complementary elements; “Alchemy” and “Alchien”. This name evokes a unique essence, an identity that fuses the ancient art of alchemy with the modern vision of fashion. “Alchemy” represents the process of transformation and creation, while “Alchien” brings with it Italian tradition and elegance.

It was born with the intention of paying homage to Italian tailoring combined with deconstructivist aesthetics, not as a concept, but as a method, imploding constructs from within, and retaining only a few structural elements that will be used to construct new configurations of meaning.

Angular lines, layered shapes, and modernised tailoring fabrics marry perfectly with the all-over digital prints that dominate the designs, which are made even richer and more curious by collaborations with print designers. The iconic element, which has become Andrea Alchien’s calling card and banner, is the suit blazer. Imperishable and timeless, like the aesthetic that ALCHÈTIPO aims to convey, the blazer persists in each of its collection designs, acquiring a new face and a different stylistic connotation each time.

The theme developed is closely linked to the identity of Andrea Alchieri’s aesthetic project, whose fascination with the grim and macabre also appears in past collections. Emerging from the naming itself is the suggestion of alchemy, the ancient art combining science and magic, which for the creative artist represents a fill rouge that cyclically sinks in and re-emerges, drawing a surrealist cinema where through a mic of languages, he creates an entire project laced with mysterious and occult beauty.

The designer, seduced by the esoteric aspect, develops his ideas by placing velvet curtains and chairs at the centre of attention, with eccentric and surrealist all-over prints evoking psychedelic trips, inspired by the photographic work of Ira Cohen and redesigned by print designer Sharon Bassi to give life to a collection o s garments evoking an introspective journey.

His transfers to the cut, to corsetry, to the protagonist splints on deconstructed blazer overcoats, to the extremely creative and disturbing hair, to the eccentric make-up inspired by the pure colours of the prints on the collection, defined the storytelling of the project, thus presenting a collection that is unique in every way.

Designer Andrea Alchieri was born in Milan and since childhood has had a strong passion for the world of painting and creative design handed down to him from his family’s DNA, which passed on to him a dedication to art and beauty in all its forms.

He has always been fascinated by how a collection can evoke different emotions or moods in the eye of others, and that it can be identified as a communicative medium related above all to everyday life lived on a daily basis.

He identifies himself as a crazy designer, with a taste for imperfection, a contaminated and apparently confusing fashion, in which all his passions and obsessions, including in particular fantastic tales and melancholic settings, are clearly visible.
